Dr. Elizabeth Duggan is the Division Chief for General and Transplant Anesthesiology at the Emory University Hospital, the primary academic institution of the Emory School of Medicine.

Her primary research and clinical interests lie in reducing perioperative complications through risk factor identification, mitigation and treatment, with a current focus on examining non-cardiac surgical patients suffering from hyperglycemia. She has developed a pre and intraoperative management algorithm for surgical patients at her institution, and jointly with the Department of Endocrinology, works to define optimal blood glucose targets, design quality improvment projects based on provider behaviors, develop medical applications to support physician workflow, and research and explore medical therapies to decrease the incidence of stress hyperglycemia. She also has a keen interest in obstructive sleep apnea and its implications and risk in surgical patients.

Finally, Dr. Duggan is a member of the busy liver transplant team at Emory University, working to develop improved clinical practice while also providing significant education efforts for the Liver Transplant/Vascular Fellowship.
