Dr. Roman Sniecinski is an active educator on both a local and national level. He is Associate Chief of the Department’s Division of Education, a member of Emory Medical School’s Curriculum Committee, and an oral board examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology. Other academic activities include working on the editorial boards of Anesthesia & Analgesia and, as well as leadership positions within the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Echocardiography.

Dr. Sniecinski is a recognized expert in perioperative echocardiography and has been elected a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography. He is actively engaged in clinical research related to the care of patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery. Particular areas of interest include post-CPB coagulopathy and applications for NIRS monitoring. Additionally, he is the Director of the Department’s externally-funded Experimental Coagulation Lab.
